Are you planning to earn an Associate Degree for Transfer from a California Community College?

Many ADT majors are directly linked to SF State majors, so following an ADT pathway is a great option.  Each ADT includes all lower division CSU GE requirements, and at least 18 units of major-related coursework.  Students who want to start on their major of choice before transfer, plan their time and preparation, and experience a smooth transition to SF State: explore the ADT pathways!

An approved ADT pathway is a result of SF State's review of the ADT curriculum. Faculty consider all of the following factors:

  • Does the ADT share the same disciplinary focus as a major at SF State?
  • Does the ADT provide the appropriate preparation for a major at SF State?
  • Can a student who earns a particular ADT complete all graduation requirements in no more than 60 units?
  1. If you applied for and plan to earn an Associate Degree for Transfer, be ready to monitor your community college unofficial transcript using your college's online student portal.

  1. Take note of whether your ADT is posted on your transcript at the time you request delivery of your transcript to SF State. Often, posting of degrees and certificates lags behind posting of final grades.

  1. If your ADT is not posted at the time you request delivery, continue to monitor your community college unofficial transcript. When your ADT is posted, contact your community college and request another delivery of your official transcript to SF State.

  2. If your ADT is not posted by SF State’s transcript deadline, please reach out to sb1440@sfsu.edu for support!

  3. Degrees and certificates awarded are posted in a specific location on transcripts - near the beginning or near the end. Your community college’s title for the ADT might include the word “Transfer.” Examples of how ADTs are referred to on official transcripts:
